Home warranties have their advantages. For example, when the covered appliances break down, you can get it repaired— providing and the home warranty company determines you have been using the item properly and your service request gets approved.

 

Sadly, some home warranty companies don’t follow through with the service requests. Or, flat out refuse to issue a refund. Even if you’re dealing with a reputable company, getting through is not always easy.

Our home maintenance team is made of seasoned experts and equipped to handle the majority of your home needs. But, we also know when specialists are needed, and we handle them completely — from the right specs for the job, ensuring they scope it correctly and price it fairly, making sure the estimate is ready for your approval, and then overseeing them so the work is done to a high standard.

Within business hours, you will receive a same-day response with a proposed action plan. Emergency requests after hours will be actioned within 2 hours. Most run-of-the-mill repairs can be completed within 72 hours (if that’s convenient for you). Some specialty work or materials that need a lead time will add a few days. In all cases, you’ll always be updated with when and how your request is progressing.

At Birdwatch, you do not need to pay upfront when requesting our service. We first work with you to refine your needs, then provide the price. We will only commence work once you have agreed to the pricing.

Our membership model is a month-to-month commitment, you can cancel at any time taking effect at the end of the current bill cycle. The only reason why refund could be requested is the poor quality of delivered work

A coordination fee of 15% is applied to cover the management and scheduling of our partner network to ensure the right team is assigned to your project. This fee includes vendor communication and scheduling support to guarantee a smooth service delivery without unexpected surprises.

The price quoted online is an initial estimate based on typical service requests. The final price may vary depending on any specific requirements or adjustments customer might have (e.g. they decide to extend the scope of work by asking us to do additional things as we’re delivering the previously agreed service)

Access to home is strictly limited to the technician assigned to a job. The technician will only enter home when customer let them in, ensuring homeowner has full control over who enters their house.

It is completely up to customer whether or not they wish to be present during home inspections. BW is flexible and can accommodate customers presence or arrange to perform the inspection in their absence, depending on their preference and convenience.

We take your privacy seriously.  Your personal and home information will not be shared with any third-party companies for marketing purposes.

However, in some cases, we may need to share limited information with trusted partners to fulfill your service request.  This could include:

 

Specialized Subcontractors: For certain services, we may collaborate with vetted subcontractors who possess the expertise to complete the job. We will only share the information necessary for them to provide the service (e.g., address for plumbing repair).

Service Providers: We may use third-party service providers for specific tasks like data storage or payment processing. These providers are contractually obligated to maintain the confidentiality and security of your data.

In all such cases, we share only the minimum amount of information required and have strict agreements in place to protect your privacy.

We highly recommend using our mobile app or web portal for the most efficient communication experience.

The frequency of communication will depend on customer specific service needs and preferences. 

 

Generally, our HM will contact owners for service scope of work discussion, visit appointments confirmations, service updates, and reminders.
